Since we began campaigning in 2013, supporters from all over the world have taken action for disability rights, leading to some achievements we’re incredibly proud of.

We supported Zimbabwe to pass a disability rights bill

Our Equal Zimbabwe campaign, run in partnership with disability organisations across the country, helped pass the Persons With Disabilities Act, a huge win for disability rights.

We helped to ratify the African Disability Protocol (ADP) in six countries

Through our regional campaigning across the African Union, we’ve supported ratification of the African Disability Protocol in Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Nigeria and Togo.

We ensured disability policies are prioritised in Bangladesh

Working with disability activists and organisations, our Equal Bangladesh campaign engaged national decision-makers to commit to the National Disability Act 2013.

We influenced global development policy at the United Nations

Our Equal World global campaign directly influenced the UN Pact for the Future (at the 2025 Summit of the Future), and helped secure gender equity on the UN disability committee.

Promise in Peril petition

Close to 50,000 people signed our Promise in Peril petition, calling for the global Sustainable Development Goals to meet their promise to leave no one behind.

Ratify the ADP in Togo

We collected 10,000 signatures for our Ratify the African Disability Protocol petition, creating a national conversation and helping to achieve ratification in Togo.

UN disability rights petition

Our petition for UN member states to uphold disability rights was signed by 50,000 people, and handed to Under-Secretary-General Ana Maria Menendez at the UN.

Our open letter calling on G7 leaders to make sure quality, inclusive education is available and accessible to children with disabilities, gained 21,500 signatures.
